West Nipissing Police have a warning for people selling items on Kijiji – watch out for scammers. Inspector Ray St. Pierre says a Sturgeon Falls resident posted an item for sale and got a response from a potential buyer. But St. Pierre says the buyer did something that set off alarm bells for the seller. In this case the potential buyer sent a cheque larger than the asking price and asked the seller to send back the surplus. St. Pierre says fortunately the seller didn’t fall for the scam otherwise he would have lost money.
