As we get closer to December, some organizations are shifting to Christmas parties which means drinking. With that in mind, the OPP have begun their Festive R.I.D.E. program in Northern Ontario. It means you can expect roadside checks when travelling area highways as police strive to reduce impaired driving incidents. RIDE stands for Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere and the program is in effect until January 2nd.
