West Nipissing about average in ranking of Most Dangerous Places according to Macleans

When it comes to dangerous places to live, West Nipissing is about average.  That`s according to Macleans magazine which analyzed crime data from 229 municipalities across Canada.  West Nipissing places 102nd in the Most Dangerous Place rankings.   Over the past year, the municipality has seen a rise in frauds, break and enters, impaired driving incidents and cocaine trafficking.  On the plus side, assaults, sexual assaults, robberies and trafficking in cannabis and other drugs is down.  Macleans measured crime stats from seven municipalities in the northeast and Timiskaming Shores is rated the Most Dangerous Place coming in at 25th place.   It`s followed by Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie.   Only North Bay, Sudbury and the Elliot Lake region in that order fare better than West Nipissing.
