It’s called car hopping and West Nipissing Police have made two arrests involving the practice. Inspector Ray St. Pierre says car hopping involves people going from car to car seeing which ones are unlocked and then stealing what’s inside. St. Pierre says in the case where they made the arrests, the vehicles were in Sturgeon Falls. A 34-year-old man and 37-year-old woman are both charged with theft. Meanwhile in Verner, police are investigating a break-in where someone broke into a homeowner’s garage and tried removing a boat.
