Work starts in earnest this Sunday to help under privileged families in West Nipissing over Christmas. The volunteer firefighters are again holding their Santa Fund Telethon with the goal of raising $30,000. The amount is enough to fill 200 baskets with food and toys. The telethon is at the West Nipissing Community and Recreation Center this Sunday. It includes live entertainment and auctions. Taking in the telethon on location will cost you a cash donation. You can also phone in a pledge by calling 580-0707. The telethon runs from 4:00pm to 11:00pm and in addition to being streamed live by Franco Cite students, Eastlink will broadcast it on Cable 10.
