The Jumpstart program in West Nipissing has a way to raise an easy $8,000. Canadian Tire locally sponsors the program and during the Parade of Lights the volunteers with the Canadian Tire float will be collecting donations in addition to handing out candy. The local store says it will match the first $2,000 raised during the parade for $4,000 and then the corporate wing will kick in another $4,000. To start things off, the West Nipissing Police are donating $500 from the annual police auction. Since 2005 the local Jumpstart has helped nearly 900 young people by raising about $117,000 for various activities.
