More MNR firefighters sent west

The Ministry of Natural Resources has sent an additional 72 firefighters to battle forest fires in Western Canada.   The total of Ontario MNR personnel out west is now 464.  Almost half the deployment is helping B-C fight raging wild fires while the remainder is split between Alberta and the Northwest Territories.  In Northeastern Ontario, the fire hazard ranges from low to high and the MNR is asking the public to be cautious when in the woods.  Ontario has seen only a handful of forest fires this season and they’ve all been very small.
