The criminal element has added a twist to the CRA scam. In addition to telling you you’ll be arrested for not paying tax arrears, the scammers say you’re also being sued. Homeowners west of Sudbury got dozens of these recorded messages making these threats. OPP are reassuring the public the callers are not from the Canada Revenue Agency. Police say these are not tactics the CRA uses to collect taxes. They say it’s nothing but a con and are telling people not to fall for it.
