A therapeutic pool at the Health Sciences North hospital in Sudbury is officially open. The pool has specialized equipment to treat Northern Ontario residents with autism and other developmental conditions. The hospital’s volunteer association raised more than $150,000 dollars for the pool. They did it through a penny drive that began two years ago and over that time they brought in 15-million pennies. Association president Cliff Richardson says the amount exceeded expectations because the original goal was to bring in $100,000.
