Police Chief releases details of his contract to counter misperceptions

West Nipissing’s Police Chief is countering a perception that his interim contract with the police board undermines a costing process.  Chuck Seguin says it doesn’t.  Seguin says he’s actually saving the municipality $20,000.   That’s because t the Chief retired September 30th and began collecting his pension meaning taxpayers no longer contribute to his pension.   His interim contract runs until the end of December, 2019 and doesn’t involve any pension contributions or top up.  Seguin also says if West Nipissing opts for the OPP and he’s not included in the transfer, then severance provisions would be triggered.
