An attempted break-in to a home in Verner went south for the two people trying to get into house. The homeowners interrupted the break-in and West Nipissing Police Inspector Ray St. Pierre says the man of the household made it tough for the accused to get away. That’s because there was a scuffle and the homeowner held the accused until police arrived. St. Pierre says once police arrived it was just a matter of arresting the pair. Both are charged with assault as well as break and enter. The man is also facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
