Affordable housing could come to West Nipissing for Indigenous people

West Nipissing council continues to work on a project to create affordable housing for First Nation people.   The project is in conjunction with Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services which is looking for land for affordable homes.  Mayor Joanne Savage says a study from 2013 shows the need is real for affordable housing and there’s also a shortage of affordable housing in the municipality.   The municipality is looking at different parcels of land it can make available to Aboriginal Housing Services.   Potential sites would be in Sturgeon Falls, Verner and Cache Bay because those three areas have full municipal services.
