An incident in Verner between a landlord and tenant got a little hot. West Nipissing Police Inspector Ray St. Pierre says the man had been evicted but was on the property trying to burn down a tree. When police arrived, St. Pierre says the man resisted police. As a consequence, not only is the 42-year-old man charged with mischief in connection with the tree-burning effort, he is also charged with resisting.
