October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in West Nipissing, the volunteer firefighters are again holding their Pink T-shirt campaign. The T-shirts are $20 apiece and the proceeds go to the West Nipissing General Hospital. Firefighter Frank Legault says this year’s T-shirts have a very specific design with the letter WNFS and the breast cancer ribbon going around the letter N. Residents are asked to wear their T-shirts every Friday to create a sea of pink in the municipality. Then at the end of the month everyone with a pink T-shirt is asked to meet at Fire Station 1B for a massive group picture. The exact date for the picture has not yet been determined.
