Municipal Welcome signs could set West Nipissing back a few bucks

A request from Field for three Welcome signs has at least one West Nipissing councillor concerned.  Paul Finley says the cost could be considerable if the municipality has to buy land from the Ministry of Transportation to erect the signs.  On the other hand putting the signs up on municipally-owned land keeps the cost down.  Staff is examining the various scenarios and will report back to council.   Council has already put up Welcome signs for Lavigne at a cost of $4,200.  And councillor Jamie Restoule believes more requests for Welcome signs will come from other West Nipissing communities.
