Make sure you’re strapped in when driving across Ontario highways as of today. The OPP have begun their annual Fall Seatbelt Campaign, an initiative that runs to the start of the Thanksgiving weekend. Last year 45 people died in crashes on Ontario highways and police say the victims were not wearing their seatbelts. Police will be carrying out spot checks to see if you’re buckled up and if not, as the driver you can expect a $240 fine plus two demerit points.
