Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board Grade 9 students perform well in annual testing but not elementary students

Grade 9 high school students with the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board system scored better than average in annual math testing.   But it`s a different story for the board`s Grade 3 and 6 students overall with the 3 Rs.   The elementary school students were three to eight points off the provincial average in writing, reading and mathematics.  However the Grade 6 students were 16 points behind the average in math.  At the high school level, the Catholic board`s applied math students managed a 52 percent score compared to the 44 percent average.  At the academic math level, the board`s students hit 90 percent compared to the 83 percent provincial average.   The results are from annual testing from the Education Quality and Accountability Office.
