Monday is Franco-Ontarian Day. In West Nipissing, the municipality and CANO are celebrating the occasion with a special celebration at the Sturgeon Falls Recreation Complex. Events include a performance by Cabaret Jeunesse. People taking in the festivities are asked to wear green or white which are the colours of the Franco-Ontarian flag. The event celebrates 400 years of French culture in Ontario from the time Samuel de Champlain arrived. Everything begins at 9:45am.
