Sturgeon Falls man fined $1,000 for camping too long in same place

A Sturgeon Falls man who ignored a law on how long you can camp on Crown land has been fined $1,000.  Gary Burton had his trailer camped north of River Valley at an access point to Lake Temagami for 54 days this past July and August.   However under the law, you can’t be camped at the same site on Crown land for more than 21 days.   A Conservation Officer saw Burton on July 8th and warned him about the 21-day limit.  There’s also a sign at the access point with the same information but despite this, Burton’s trailer remained parked at the site well beyond the limit.
