Charges have been laid in connection with a domestic incident in Sturgeon Falls. West Nipissing Police Inspector Ray St. Pierre says it started as an argument between a Salter Street woman and her boyfriend. At one point it looked like matters would come to a peaceful end, but St. Pierre says events instead escalated. St. Pierre says the woman asked the man to leave and at first he refused. He left a short time later but not before pushing the woman. After the man left, the woman locked the door. However the man damaged the locked door by kicking it when he tried to get back in. The man is charged with assault and mischief.
