The construction of the new Sacré-Coeur Church in Sturgeon Falls is underway. A sod-turning ceremony was held yesterday at the site. Parish Council Chair and Construction Committee Member Yvon Marleau says it has been a long process and this will hopefully boost the morale of all the parishioners. Marleau says the goal is to have the new church ready by Easter 2018. The former building was taken down in October 2015 over structural concerns.
