Local Teen Enjoys the All-Star Experience

The Elite Baseball League of Ontario held it’s first ever All Star Game at the Kinsmen Stadium in Oshawa August 9th.  The West beat the East by a narrow margin 10-8 with the East nearly pulling off the come back.  Representing the 15U Voyageurs playing with the West was 14 year old Caleb Cain-Plante of Sturgeon Falls. Caleb’s ability to play all positions proficiently allowed him to be chosen to play as a utility player.  Although Caleb prefers to pitch or catch, because of his speed and arm strength, center field tends to be the best fit for his talents.  Caleb is also a heavy hitter already at the age of 14, hitting his first Home Run in the EBLO during the Elimination Tournament in August.  Caleb is hitting home runs in the classroom as well achieving a 97% average for his Grade 9 year at Franco Cite.
