Algoma Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha is welcoming news that the Ontario Liberals are addressing the suicide issue among young First Nation people in remote areas. The Liberals are responding in several ways including sending more counsellors to help residents of the remote reserves. Mantha is hopeful they’ll get the help they need adding they’ve waited a long time for this help. The New Democrat is also reminding the Liberals that remote Aboriginal communities aren’t the only ones facing a crisis. Mantha says many First Nations across Ontario are in a state of emergency especially with young people taking their own lives.
