OHL North Bay Battalion player suspended for doping infraction

An OHL player with the North Bay Battalion will miss the first eight games of the upcoming season for violating anti doping rules.  The suspension is the result of Jamie Lewis buying an over-the-counter supplement which contains a prohibited drug.  It’s Lewis’ first offense and the Canadian Hockey League says he didn’t know the supplement was illegal but it still has to suspend him.    The CHL’s position is athletes are liable for all illegal substances found in doping samples regardless of how they got there.
