West Nipissing marks first anniversary of devastating fire in downtown Sturgeon Falls

This day a year ago was hell for many residents of Sturgeons Falls.  On July 14th, 2016 a fire in the downtown destroyed several businesses and quite a few apartments.  Don’s Butcher Shop was one of the businesses destroyed in the fire.  Owner Don Leblanc says he knew he would re-open, it was just a matter of where and when.   Leblanc says what made his decision to re-open easier was the entire community plus the Nipissing First Nation were behind him.  The new and improved Don’s Butcher Shop has now been re-opened for about a month.
