There’s a command change Thursday at 22 Wing in North Bay. Colonel Henrik N. Smith is formally relinquishing command of CFB North Bay in an official ceremony at the base. Taking over from Smith will be Colonel Mark Roberts. The change in command will take place during a high-profile ceremony that will be officiated by Major General Christian Drouin beginning at 10:00am. Drouin commands the 1 Canadian Air Division of the Canadian NORAD region. Thursday’s changeover follows another command change that took place Tuesday at the base. That change saw Lieutenant Colonel Michel Roy relinquish command of the WATS branch to Lieutenant Colonel Eric Cyr. WATS stands for Wing Administration and Technical Services which keeps the base operating effectively and enhances the quality of life for the military families.
