It was a much nicer day this year for the annual Knit For Care fundraiser at Diane’s Creative Elements on Saturday. After last year’s torrential downpour, about 20 local knitters, and crochet enthusiasts were greeted with a gorgeous Summer day as they raised over $3400 to go towards the purchase of I.V. Pumps and electronic BP Monitors at the West Nipissing General Hospital. At the same time, they were building the necessary squares required for the beautiful shawls, lap blankets and pillow cases the group donates to patients in the hospital’s oncology department.
