Human remains found on Mississauga First Nation territory heading to Sudbury for post mortem

A body found on Mississauga First Nation territory has been sent to Sudbury for an autopsy. The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police say in a release that the human remains were found in a wooded area on the first nation, located just west of Blind River.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers located human remains, which were transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner – Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Sudbury. The autopsy will be completed on Wednesday.

Police say they will continue to carry out a thorough and professional investigation into this discovery and further information will be provided only as it becomes available.
