Serre to talk about national strategy for seniors in West Nipissing this evening

Now that the House of Commons has passed a motion calling for a national strategy on seniors, the MP for Nickel Belt has some ideas.  It was local MP Marc Serre who introduced the Private Members Bill on the national strategy.  A federal committee will next start work on determining what should go into the strategy.  Serre says the study should suggest how seniors can continue to be vibrant contributors to their communities.  He also wants daytime programming to help people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.  Serre adds one concern seniors across the country raise is affordable and accessible housing and he hopes the study looks into.   Serre will discuss his ideas at a presentation this evening at the Nipissing Health Centre beginning at 6:30pm.
