A woman from Verner is looking at charges after a man was punched in the face, scratched and then stabbed with a pen. West Nipissing police say the assault resulted from an argument the couple had. The woman is charged with assault and assault with a weapon. And in Field, a man is charged with assault with a weapon after hitting a woman with her purse. The accused also bit another man on the hand when a group of people tried to intervene.
