Gateway Casinos and Entertainment has become the official operator of the casinos in Northern Ontario. The company has signed a 20-year contract with OLG to run the casinos in Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and the slots at the Sudbury Downs. Gateway also has first crack at building casinos proposed for North Bay and Kenora. Gateway is Canada’s largest gaming company with operations in Southern Ontario, Edmonton and British Columbia. It has 23 gaming properties that feature almost 250 tables and more than 8,400 slots. It also has 54 restaurants and bars and more than 270 hotel rooms.
