West Nipissing Police presented their annual report to city council earlier this week. Mayor Joanne Savage says the report showed steady and consistent crime numbers in the area.
Savage says they have great youth, based on the statistical information provided by Police Chief Chuck Seguin. The report showed higher levels of break-ins, frauds and thefts overall but youth offences were down in the area.
Savage says police are continuing to work with stakeholders to put crime prevention strategies in place to be able to maintain a safe community in West Nipissing. The report also showed that police are looking at a $70,000 surplus for their 2016 budget.
