Council expected to debate tax levy request for CT scanner

West Nipissing council plans to debate a request from the local hospital in the near future over a tax levy.  The hospital wants council to apply a $6.50 per year on households in the municipality.  The levy would last 15 years.  The hospital wants to use the levy to buy a CT scanner.  Meanwhile council has turned down a request from the Nipissing Serenity Hospice for $50,000.  However council says it can help the group with fundraising activities.
