Major union says Ontario budget bad for health care

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union believes the Wynne Liberals are creating a perfect storm for the private sector to get into health care.  OPSEU says the latest budget does nothing to reverse 10 years of cuts in health care and fails residents in Northern Ontario.   As an example, the union points to numerous patients on stretchers at Health Sciences North in Sudbury in hallways or in the emergency ward.  OPSEU says there was even one case of an 84-year-old patient placed on a stretcher in a TV room this year.  The reason for patients left on stretchers is the hospital has more patients than beds.  OPSEU says this is a crisis in the making and could see the private sector take over things like MRI`s, CT scans and physiotherapy.
