Tories question mining firm’s departure after getting government cheque

The Ontario Tories want to know why the Liberals gave a Timmins area mining company money only to see it now move to the U.S.   Great Lakes Graphite in Matheson got $412,000 from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation last year.     However Norm Miller, the Tories critic of northern development, says now the company has announced it`s moving to Pennsylvania.   That quick turnaround left Miller with a lot of questions.  Miller wants to know if a condition of receiving the money was that the company stay in Ontario for several years.   Interim northern development minister Bill Mauro admitted to Miller he wasn`t aware of the move.  Mauro said he would look into what conditions Great Lakes Graphite had to meet in return for getting the money.
