Sturgeon Falls residents shouldn’t be alarmed if they see some smoke over the Easter weekend. Fire Chief Richard Maranda says there’s a controlled burn going on in two parts of town. The first section is a controlled burn between Third and Quesnel and the second area takes in the area between Nipissing and Roy. Maranda says the fire department has inspected the sites and says it’s safe to carry out the burns.
