The former Sturgeon Falls Mills was the subject of a lecture at Nipissing University. It was given by Doctor Steven High who is a professor of History at Concordia University. High talked about former workers giving their account of the mill after it closed although efforts to re-open the facility persisted. The Sturgeon Falls Mill employed 600 people at its peak during the early 1960s before closing in 2002.
