The Sturgeon Falls Curling Club Friday night mixed league “Year End Party” last week was also a “Kick-Off” party to wish local Northern Ontario Mixed Doubles Champions Karen and Dean Pigeau all the best as they compete at Nationals in Saskatoon this week. With the lack of funding from NOCA and Curling Canada, the West Nipissing corporate and curling community stepped up with donations to help cover travel, meals, uniforms and lodging so that Team Pigeau can concentrate on the Curling. Their first action is tomorrow night at 8:30 pm vs the #2 ranked team of Olympic champion Jennifer Jones and her husband Brent Laing.
