Future of Dionne Quintuplets home in North Bay catches attention of New York Times

The issue of what to do with the Dionne Quintuplets home in North Bay has caught the attention of the New York Times.  The paper interviewed numerous players in the dispute as council decides whether to keep the home or move it about an hour’s drive south on Highway 11.  A special committee has been working on how to keep the home in North Bay without costing taxpayers too much money.  The home is estimated to cost $150,000 a year to operate.  Until two years ago, the local chamber of commerce operated the facility but then told council it no longer wanted any part of the home.  The Dionnes were the world’s first ever quintuplets to survive when they were born in 1934.   Council formed a special committee to come back with a recommendation on how to make it feasibly possible to keep the Dionne home.
