Highway 101 between Timmins and Foleyet  has re-opened after it was closed because of flooding one week ago on Friday.  The length of the closure has drawn the ire of the NDP MPP for Nickel Belt France Gelinas.  Gelinas was on her way to Foleyet last Friday to meet with voters when she was stopped by highway closure signs.  The incumbent says it’s unacceptable that the Ministry of Transportation had the road closed for a week.  She says her office was flooded by calls from angry Foleyet residents who couldn’t get to Timmins to shop or see their doctors.
