MP Serré working with industry and École Christ-Roi to improve the school’s Internet broadband connectivity

MP Marc Serré is working with École Christ-Roi, and the Franco-Nord Catholic School Board on a solution to bring high-speed, broadband internet service to the primary Catholic school. The need for this service is an item very high on the priority list of all students, so much so that they took action and created an online petition campaign, which got Serré’s attention. Serré says since he visited with the students, he’s been reaching out to several local internet service providers and contacts at the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development.

The goal is to find ways of reaching a positive outcome for the school’s connectivity issues. The Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development’s recently launched the “Connect to Innovate Program” which was developed to enhance broadband access for rural communities. Serré is asking all rural and northern communities affected by inadequate access to high-speed internet to apply before the March 13th deadline.
