Former Sturgeon Falls resident, now living in Espanola, competing at Mrs. Canada Globe

A former resident of Sturgeon Falls who now lives in Espanola, is competing in this year’s Mrs. Canada Globe.  Lynn Gauvreau is representing Mrs. Eastern Canada at the national event which takes place in Regina March 17th and 18th.  Gauvreau has been involved in the modelling and beauty pageant field for more than 20 years.  Her first entry into beauty pageants was when she was 18 and a contestant in the Miss Sturgeon Falls.  However, Gauvreau says the national pageant is more than picking a beautiful person.  It’s also about raising funds and awareness about SOFIA House, an organization people escaping violent households can turn to.  Gauvreau says if she wins, she hopes to bring more attention to SOFIA House.
