Congolese refugee family expected some time this year

Sometime this year, West Nipissing will be welcoming a Congolese family after a glitch delayed their arrival last August.  Neighbours Without Borders has been helping the family make the move to the region.  Its coordinator, Greg Humbert, says the family is once again travel ready and is now just waiting for a departure date.  The family includes a father and mother, their four children and the mother’s teenage brother.  Humbert says the local group will help the family settle in for at least a year and maybe longer if necessary.  The objective is to make the family independent by getting the young ones in school and finding work for the others.   In the meantime, home for the family is a refugee camp in Kenya where they’ve been since 2009.
