Fire Marshall’s Office investigating restaurant fire

The investigation into how the Brutus Express Restaurant caught fire in Sturgeon Falls continues.  West Nipissing Fire Chief Richard Maranda says the fire started in the kitchen late Tuesday night.  Firefighters were on the scene within moments and had the blaze out quickly before it could spread to other buildings.  Although the fire was contained, it caused a lot of heat damage to a sitting area in the restaurant.  Maranda says the restaurant is a total loss and pegs the damage at about $175,000.  The Fire Marshall’s Office has been sifting through the kitchen area to see if it can pinpoint the cause.  There were no injuries.
