Two Northern Ontario residents named recipients of Order of Ontario
One of the founding fathers of Science North in Sudbury is getting Ontario’s highest award. Doctor David Pearson is one of 26 recipients of the Order of Ontario. Pearson helped create Science North in the early 1980’s and he had a knack of making complicated science topics easy to understand. The other recipient is Angele Brunelle, a resident of Thunder Bay. Brunelle is formerly from Kapuskasing and championed Francophone rights and services in the north. She was also instrumental in the creation of Northern Ontario’s French Catholic school board.
