A 27-year-old man from Markstay-Warren faces numerous charges after a stand-off with police. The man blocked himself inside a home around 4:30pm Wednesday and refused repeated attempts to come out. However he finally surrendered peacefully around 10:00pm Wednesday. Among the charges the man faces are assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and pointing a firearm. The incident took place on Highway 535 and it forced police to close the roadway during the stand-off.
