Right now seniors in Canada make-up 15 percent of the population. But by 2035 they will form one quarter of our population. To ensure their growing needs are not overlooked, the Liberal MP for Nickel Belt is recommending the creation of a national strategy on seniors. Marc Serre says the strategy would advise the feds on improving income security, access to care and quality of life for seniors. Serre says planning now for the upcoming demographic shift will help guarantee a better life for seniors 20 years from now.
