We’re in the thick of winter, but the federal member for Nickel Belt is already thinking about next summer. Marc Serre says Canada Summer Jobs is accepting applications from employers planning to hire summer students. The goal is to get a larger number of students employed during Canada’s 150th birthday. Serre says eligible employers include all non-profit groups, small businesses with up to 50 employees and the public sector. Serre says throughout Nickel Belt priorities include funding summer festivals, community celebrations and farming. The application deadline is January 20th and employers can start hiring students as early as next April.
