The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services will do a study on the cost to patrol West Nipissing with the OPP. Mayor Joanne Savage says the municipality was hoping for an early start to that study, but the earliest it can begin is July with a presentation. However, Savage says some local preliminary work can take place well before the summer to expedite next year’s process. This is the second time the OPP have been asked to assess how much it will cost to replace the municipal police with their agency.
