OLG has determined who will run its casinos in Northern and Southern Ontario. The contract winner is Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, the country’s largest gaming operation with 18 gambling sites and more than 4,000 employees. Gateway will operate the casinos but OLG will still own them. In the north, Gateway will begin running the casinos in Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay as well as the slots at Sudbury Downs by next spring. Part of the 20-year service agreement lets Gateway build new casinos in North Bay and Kenora. In Southern Ontario, Gateway will run six casinos daily.
